PrimoSpire® SRP
One of the Stiffest and Strongest Unreinforced Plastics

PrimoSpire self-reinforced polyphenylene (SRP) is one of the stiffest and strongest unreinforced plastics in the world. Even without fiber reinforcement, PrimoSpire SRP delivers tensile properties that are comparable to those of many reinforced plastics. Plus, you get the added benefits of lighter weight and no loss of ductility.

These properties combine with high compressive strength – one of the highest among plastics – making PrimoSpire SRP an excellent candidate for weight-sensitive applications that have historically relied on composites and specialty metals for superior mechanical performance.

Key Features
  • Exceptional strength and stiffness without reinforcements
  • Outstanding mechanical performance
  • Inherent flame resistance and ablative properties
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Exceptional hardness and surface finish
  • Very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE)
  • Very low moisture absorption

Typical Applications

  • Aerospace components
  • Surgical instruments and medical devices
  • Wafer processing and test components
  • Military and defense articles
  • High-strength tubing
