Many of today's automotive electronic systems contain delicate components, such as, circuit boards, that must be protected from a variety of harsh environments to ensure reliable operations. These sensitive electronics are often enclosed in a sealed housing that shields them from the extremes of heat, thermal cycling, aggressive fluids and road salts.

Electronic housings made from AMODEL polyphthalamide (PPA) have a terrific track record for doing just that. AMODEL PPA offers excellent long-term thermal performance and exceptional strength, in addition to superior hydrolytic and dimensional stability relative to conventional polyamides and polyesters. AMODEL resins offer up to 50% less weight and 10-30% less cost per part compared to aluminum.
